During their residency at HCC, Orange Grove Dance (D.C) is hosting a Dance for Camera Screening on Friday, October 10th | 12:00-1:30 PM in the Mainstage Theatre| Free
The workshop showing will showcase the intersection of movement, cinematography, and storytelling that has made Orange Grove Dance internationally recognized.
About Orange Grove Dance
Orange Grove Dance, under the artistic direction of Colette Krogol and Matt Reeves, has created a remarkable body of cinematic work that has garnered international acclaim. They have been recognized for creating “visually athletic experiences through the lenses of dance, film, and design.” The company’s artistic directors are also 2020 Helen Hayes Award winners for “Outstanding Choreography in a Play,” and their work has been presented internationally by prestigious venues including The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, and festivals across Europe and Asia.
Their films have screened in cities from Munich, Germany to Boulder City, Nevada, and have received numerous prestigious honors:
- Their film “The Archetypes” won Best Dance Film at the Et Cultura Film Festival
- “The Archetypes” also received the Florida Filmmaker Award at the Et Cultura Film Festival
- The film was nominated for Best Arthouse Film at the Stockholm Independent Film Festival
