I started dance classes when I was eight years old, and I’ve been dancing in one form or another ever since. For as long as I can remember, along with my need to move, I’ve always been driven by a desire to make things. All kinds of things. A few years after graduating from FSU, I started to focus on making dances. In 1997, I created a professional contemporary dance group, Moving Current Dance Collective, with Erin Cardinal and Elsa Valbuena.
As an adjunct dance instructor at St. Petersburg College, the University of South Florida, and Eckerd College I’ve created countless dances for students and about 60 staged works for Moving Current Dance Collective. My dances have been seen regularly in concerts throughout Florida, and dance films have been presented in festivals in the United States, Portugal, Australia, and Canada.
Moving Current Dance Collective is making big changes in 2024. After an incredible twenty-five-year journey we are retiring from the collective. I’m still active in the Dance community as an independent artist and presently working on a couple of projects.
