News: Call to Artists – Dance Rising Tampa Bay Kick Off
Choose your iconic Tampa location
During our first gathering via zoom, we will choose the top 15 iconic locations for the Dance Rising Tampa Bay film series of 2024-2025.
Get ready!! Dance Tampa Bay is thrilled to introduce Dance Rising Tampa Bay, a dynamic platform for local artists to showcase their dance films. Hillsborough County artists are invited to participate in Dance Rising Tampa Bay through four unique open calls for entries. Applications are free and we wholeheartedly encourage participation from all skill levels and dance genres.
From each of the four calls to artists 8-10 films will be selected and skillfully edited into a high-energy, three-minute compilation. It’s a dance revolution, and you’re invited!
The theme of the first film focuses on dances performed in iconic outdoor Hillsborough County locations! The selected locations will be announced August 2024.
Meanwhile, we need your help! Please send your ideas for iconic outdoor locations in Hillsborough County by filling out this short form. We will collect all the ideas and then vote during a zoom meeting on July 10th!
Dance Tampa Bay will present the films in multiple sites throughout the county. Each setting will offer a unique experience, from being projected on a building, screened in a theater as a pre-show dance concert warmer, and available online. Each film compilation will be incorporated into the informational kiosks located through downtown Tampa.
