December 17, 2024 Dear Dance Enthusiast, As we approach the new year, it is important to reflect on the challenges and successes of 2024. Although hurricanes, Helene and Milton, left many of us with impromptu planning, and leaving destruction for some in the wake, they also gave us the opportunity to show the world how we work together. We have the chance to reassess our needs, act on it and become stronger for it. This year, Dance Tampa Bay focused on visibility, awareness and advocacy. Jimmy Award Winning Student, Best Dancer – Congratulations, Alana Hogan!!
Congratulations to Alana Hogan for bringing home Best Dancer at The Jimmy Awards! What an accomplishment - we are so proud of you and Dylan for representing Tampa and the Straz Center with your talents. Welcome home! Alana Hogan, a recent graduate of Gibbs High School, was named Best Dancer at the National High School Musical Theatre Awards, known as the Jimmy Awards. Her award, presented by The Shubert Organization, came with a $2,500 scholarship. She was recognized for excellence in dance and movement. In May, Alana won the Broadway Star
